About the Viking Ski Club

On April 24, 1973, a group of Elkhart area residents desiring to join together and promote skiing and to acquaint themselves with the sport and other people interested in skiing, decided to from a club.  On May 22, 1973, officers and directors were elected and the Viking Ski Club became a reality.

The purpose of the Viking Ski Club is to provide a non-profit club to promote individual and family interest and proficiency in ski, to facilitate skiing, including lowering expenses through group travel and participation, to provide opportunities for friendships and acquaintances among skiers of the area and to promote definite club activities and trips.

But, there is much more to the Viking Ski Club than just skiing!  We have evolved into a year-round social club with many activities throughout the winter, spring, summer and fall.

Our Features

Although our first love is the snow, with an ever-expanding membership, our interests have broadened greatly. We organize and promote a wide range of year-round activities such as NASTAR type downhill racing, camping, house boating, white water rafting, canoeing, golf outings, casino trips, TGIF's, ski weekends, western and European ski trips, picnics, and bike rides.

Members

Our members range in age from 18 to past 75. We have a mix of singles and married couples and a wide range of occupations and careers. With such wide diversity, we are able to have something for everyone.

Meetings

If you have not been to one of our meetings, you should come and see how much fun we really have.  Our general meetings are conducted the fourth Tuesday of every month. Visitors are always welcome to attend our meetings. See the Home page for the current meeting location. For membership information click here.
