The annual elections were held at the April 27th general meeting. Here is a list of new officers and board members.

Summer Fun

Winter Trip Sign up meeting –  August 23rd at 6:30 at Oupost Sports. The club will provide food and a cash bar will be available.

Bike Ride –  August 1. If Doug can’t run it, Bob will do it. Meet at the Stray Dog at 10 A.M.

Golf Outing – August 29 at 1:00 PM. Meet at Raber Course. Burgers and hotdogs will be served followed by a 2:00 PM tee time. Cost is $30 per person, including cart. Bring dish to pass for afterwards. Dick will get chicken contact Dick Zander.

Other events are being considered. If you have a suggestion or would like to host an event please contact any board member. Contact details can be found in the Scroll.

Reminder

2010 Membership dues were due January 1st. If you have not renewed your membership, please contact the Viking membership chairman. You can find contact information in the Scroll.

New Meeting Location

Starting March 23rd the Viking Ski Club’s General meetings and Board meetings will be held a Villa Macri in Toscana Park. The meeting time will remain a 7:00 PM 4th Tuesday of each month. Villa Macri has a private room we can use at no charge. Click here for directions.

Note: Toscanna Park is north of the retail complex on the corner of Grape road and SR 23. From the corner of SR 23 and Grape road proceed north about a quarter mile to Toscanna Park on your right.

Banquet Report

We had 49 attendees at our annual banquet. The banquet was held at Tippicanoe Place in South Bend. The food was excellent and the company even better.

The Viking Scroll

The Viking Ski Club publishes a newsletter named the Scroll. The Scroll is currently being published bi-monthly. Occasionally and additional edition will be published when warranted. Click on the image of the Scroll to view the current issue. The Scroll is in PDF format and you must have Adobe Reader or another PDF viewer installed on your computer to read it. Older issues of the Scroll are  archived by clicking on the Scroll link at the top of any website page. If you need a PDF viewer you can get Adobe Reader here.

Viking Photos

Over the years Vikings have had a lot of fun. Some of it has been recorded. We currently have 12 photo albums online. You can look at individual pictures or run a slide show. Check them out. Click on the picture of the album.

New Website

The Viking Ski Club is moving to a new website. The new website is hosted on the social networking site meetup.com. Meetup is designed to facilitate communications between members of groups that host events and meetings. Meetup.com allows all members to communicate with each other by posting comments about upcoming events, event reminders, event calendars, event ratings, email other members, discussion boards, and more.

You must join at Viking Ski Club on Meetup to participate. Going forward all new events and member communication will be done through the Meetup site. Photo albums and our Scroll archive  will be migrated to the new site over the next few months. By the end of 2010 this Viking website will be taken down.

You are strongly encouraged to join as soon as possible. Don’t put it off. Click here to get started. Joining is easy. Click the Join button. Enter a few pieces of information, optionally upload a picture and you are done. If you already have a facebook id you can use it.

The new web address for the Viking Ski Cub is http://www.meetup.com/Viking-Ski-Club/. Once our migration is complete our current address VikingSkiClub.com will be updated to point to the new site. Meanwhile links to the new website will be put on the existing website.
